National Heritage Week Event . Theatre of Weeds . 23rd August 2020
We're putting the wild plants that call our gardens home in the spotlight by using the Victorian tradition of plant theatres. However instead of displaying rows of the usual pelargoniums & auriculas, we will be putting weeds centre stage, featuring Herb Robert, Hairy Bittercress, All Heal, Lesser Plantain & many more! Our stage will celebrate their history & ecology as well as the many intriguing & delicious ways they can be enjoyed both aesthetically & gastronomically!
Be part of our Heritage Week Event by potting up your own prized garden ‘weed’ & bring it along to the grand plant-tastic performance in the Garden of Re-Imagination on 23rd August. This event will include:
- Expert advice to help you identify & discover more about your starring plant.
- A 30min garden tour exploring the incredible world of wild plants led by RHS trained horticulturalist & Co-Founder of Two Green Shoots, Adam Carveth
- A 30min Plant Performers Clinic giving you the chance to transform your ‘weed’ into the star of the show & then capture it in your very own sketch drawing led by Botanical Artist, Ida Mitrani
- A slice of cake & a hot or cold drink freshly prepared using weeds from the organic gardens!
